History
GSM-Multimedia was founded in Dingolfing on June 24, 1994. Initially, we focused primarily on manufacturing flight cases and record bags. Over the years, however, our product range has continuously expanded and now covers the entire spectrum of DJ and club needs, as well as increasingly the production and studio sector.
Since our founding over 20 years ago, we have successfully served a broad customer base, including end customers from the DJing, club, gastronomy, retail, TV/broadcast, as well as resellers and installation companies. By building a Europe-wide distribution network, we can proudly say that nearly all major DJs and professional dealers are among our valued customers.
Milestones
August 1995:
GSM-Multimedia was appointed to take over the distribution of Amabilia Flightcases in Germany. This marked the beginning of our wholesale network.
November 1998:
We proudly announced that we took over the exclusive distribution of MaishMereau products in Germany. We became the first professional vendor of record bags in the country.
February 2000:
We entered into another exclusive distribution agreement for the German-speaking region. Our company now handles the entire range of Ultimate-DJ-Gear (UDG). With this agreement, we were pleased to introduce another brand to the market, expanding our presence in the DJ bags and DJ cases sectors.
October 2000:
In October 2000, we made a groundbreaking decision to offer our products online to provide even better service to our customers. From now on, customers worldwide can access our range at www.recordcase.de.
January 2001:
To enable our resellers to place orders conveniently and efficiently, we integrated a reseller section into our webshop www.recordcase.de. Our resellers can now submit their orders online.
March 2002:
Hans Söllner joined our company as the new owner this month. He seamlessly integrated into the already excellent structure of this young company.
August 2002:
We laid the foundation for our new company building at Siemensstraße 10 in Landau/Isar. The construction of this building marks an important milestone in our development.
January 2003:
After completing the construction project, we are pleased to move into our new offices and warehouse spaces. This allows us to work more efficiently and optimize our inventory management.
February 2005:
We proudly announce that we have relinquished the distribution of UDG products to establish our own brand, Zomo. Under the Zomo brand, we will offer a wide range of products in the areas of record bags, flight cases, and various accessories. Our extensive experience now fully contributes to the production of Zomo products, aiming to further solidify our position as a market leader in this field.
June 2005:
Sefour UK granted us the exclusive distribution rights for the German-speaking market. This allows us to further expand our market leadership in DJ furniture and accessories.
August 2005:
Freefloat BV entrusted us with the distribution of their innovative Freefloat air cushions in Germany. We are proud to include these products in our portfolio.
October 2005:
As of October 31, 2005, the entire business segment was transferred to the newly established GSM-Multimedia GmbH. Hans Söllner is the sole owner and managing director. The sole proprietorship remains as a leasing company for the real estate of GSM-Multimedia.
November 2005:
We are now a proud distribution partner for Space-Tek equipment stands in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Their innovative solutions in the field of equipment stands perfectly complement our product portfolio.
January 2006:
We took over the distribution of the renowned Redsound products for the German-speaking region. These unique and patented products have long been known for their innovation and feature an unmatched beat counter.
April 2006:
The distribution of Grip Cologne DJ bags has also come under our management. We are excited to offer these high-quality products in our range.
December 2006:
Construction work for the expansion of our facilities has begun. We have placed our trust in the expertise of Wolf Systembau in Osterhofen to successfully complete this project.
May 2007:
From now on, “The original Spindoctor” will be exclusively distributed in Europe by GSM-Multimedia. We are proud to have this renowned brand in our portfolio.
June 2007:
GSM-Multimedia GmbH was honored with the Pioneer Forward Award 2007 on Ibiza as the best German Pioneer support dealer. We are thrilled with this recognition and also achieved second place in the European ranking.
July 2007:
We are pleased to announce that the construction work is complete. We would like to thank Wolf Systembau for the timely execution. Our expanded facility now offers over 3000 m² of storage space and 1000 m² of exhibition and office space.
August 2007:
With the establishment of the Antoc brand, we expand our portfolio with another high-quality brand. Under Antoc, we will offer exciting products in the Pro Audio and lighting systems sectors.
November 2007:
GSM-Multimedia GmbH has acquired the “manufacturing and distribution of slipmats” division from US-Imports in Belgium. With this acquisition, we are now the world’s largest and most significant manufacturer of slipmats. We have created the brand Slipmat-Factory for this specific business area, which operates in both wholesale and retail.
June 2008:
Decksaver has entrusted us with the distribution for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Italy. Decksaver dust covers are known for their durability and elegant design. This partnership further strengthens our market position.
March 2009:
Our second webshop, www.dj-deals.de, goes online. This provides our customers with another platform to conveniently purchase our products online.
May 2009:
For the second time, we were recognized as the most successful German Pioneer support dealer and received the Pioneer Forward Award 2009. We again achieved second place in the European ranking. We thank all our loyal customers for their support.
June 2010:
For the third consecutive year, we were awarded as the most successful German Pioneer SD support dealer and received the Pioneer Forward Award 2010 once more. We are grateful for our customers’ trust and continued support.
September 2010:
With the Berlin, Miami, and Ibiza model ranges, we launched our first Zomo DJ furniture. Through Zomo, we enter a new market segment and complement our successful product range.
May 2011:
The French manufacturer Guillemot has transferred the distribution of Hercules DJ/music products to us. Hercules DJ products fit seamlessly into our portfolio and strengthen our position in the digital music industry.
November 2014:
We have added DJ-Tech to our wholesale range and are now the exclusive distributor for the German-speaking region, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Benelux.
December 2015:
Starting January 2016, the Pioneer DJ dealer network will be restructured. We are proud to be recognized as a selected Premium SD Support Dealer and to be listed as a “DJ Specialist.” This recognition allows us to continue providing our customers with high-quality Pioneer DJ products and to offer the best possible service as a premium distributor.
August 2016:
With the PEP brand, we introduce another product line that will offer our customers attractive products with excellent value for money. Initially consisting of selected flight cases, the portfolio will be expanded into various directions in the future.
October 2016:
We have taken over the distribution of the Japanese brand ORB. The high-end vinyl products from ORB are now positioned in the market by us.
March 2017:
GSM-Multimedia GmbH, including www.recordcase.de, has been integrated into the exclusive distribution network of Denon Prime dealers and appointed as a specialist for professional Denon DJ products. Denon offers a high-quality range of DJ players, mixers, and turntables that hold a leading market position.
April 2017:
Our webshop www.recordcase.de has been updated with a fresh design and the latest technology to provide our customers with an even better shopping experience.
May 2017:
Akai Professional has appointed us as an MPC-Specialist-Center. Akai, a leading manufacturer of recording and studio workstations, relies on our extensive experience in this field.
June 2017:
The website www.zomo.de has also been refreshed, featuring an updated design and the latest technology. Browsing for the latest DJ technology is now even more enjoyable, and placing orders is simpler than ever.
August 2018:
GSM-Multimedia is rebranded as DJ-Tech Europe. DJ-Tech has entrusted us with the distribution of their products for the entire European mainland. We look forward to this task and the resulting synergies.
July, 2019:
GSM-Multimedia celebrates its 25th anniversary! For 25 years, we have been proud to supply DJs and event organizers with high-quality products. We would like to thank all our customers for their long-standing support, which has made this success story possible.
September 2019:
Gemini DJ has granted us the exclusive distribution of their products for the German and Austrian markets. With Gemini DJ equipment, we can complete our range and excite our customers with many attractive products.
